A little bit about the Maryland Pig Roaster:
John Langenfelder:
I am the owner and chef for the Maryland Pig Roaster. I am a Baltimore native
and currently reside in Columbia, Md. The Langenfelder name was well-known
in the 50's, 60's and early 70's for bull roasts and crab feasts. My Uncle
Bud continued this tradition in the 80's by doing pork stands at the Howard
County and Maryland State Fairs into the early 2000's. I have decided to
continue with that fine tradition by slow cooking whole pigs. I have been
cooking and bbqing for over 40 years. I am currently a KCBS member,
competitor and judge.
Paul Single:
Paul joined me as a pig roaster in 2009. Paul has worked many years with my
Uncle Bud at the Maryland State Fair cooking for him. Paul has also worked
for other local catering firms. Paul is a teacher for Harford County Public
Schools, is currently finishing his master's degree this spring and is preparing
to go for his Doctorate.
Cooking is our hobby and passion. We enjoy it thoroughly and it shows in the

our website. Please feel free to contact us about anything related to cooking.
We are always available to help you and answer any questions.
This website is dedicated to my father, John Sr, and my
Uncle Bud who both passed away in 2008. They started
us down this path. They are both greatly missed.

Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.
